Lee Mead is the latest star to take on the role of Joseph in Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.' Lee won the role on BBC television show 'Any Dream Will Do' with a majority of the 3 million votes cast. Lee will be performing as Joseph at The Adelphi Theatre in London's West End when the show opens on July 6th.

Early Life

New West End star, Lee Mead, is originally from Southend-On-Sea. He trained in acting, singing and dancing at the Whitehall Performing Arts College but left this establishment before he graduated. Lee is an active and social guy who loves playing football, cooking and eating out with his family and friends.

Career Highlights

The nation's favourite Joseph is no stranger to the stage. Lee Mead has performed in a number of high profile shows including The Phantom of the Opera where he acted as the understudy for the part of Raoul. Lee has performed in a number of cabaret shows and on cruise ships and has starred in productions of Tommy and Miss Saigon.


Lee's TV credits include a small role in BBC drama, Murder in Mind and appearing as a dancer in Geri Halliwell's 'It's Raining Men' music video!


You may be surprised to know that Lee has even performed in the UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Lee played the role of the Pharoah in the national tour and even appeared in this role twice on a West End Stage!
