Fox starred in the West End show Treats and has an ongoing role as DS Hathaway in the TV drama Lewis, a spin-off from the hugely successful Inspector Morse which starred John Thaw.

Early Life

Laurence Fox was born in 1978 in Yorkshire, England and is part of a English acting dynasty. His father his father is the actor James Fox, while Edward Fox, Robert Fox and Daniel Chatto are all uncles.

Laurence was educated at Harrow School before training at RADA and gaining specialist acting skills like stage fighting. He also plays the guitar and has a tenor singing voice.

Career Highlights

Fox has appeared in a whole host of TV programmes, films and theatrical productions. Theatre shows include The Provoked Wife, Ulysses and Kit's Play while film appearances include The Hole in 2001 and Deathwatch.

Interesting Facts

  • Fox married Doctor Who actress Billie Piper on New Year's Eve 2007 at the Parish Church of St Mary's in Eastbourne, West Sussex. In October 2008, they had a son, Winston James Fox
