Jodie Prenger is due to perform as Nancy in Cameron Mackintosh's Oliver! She'll be performing between six and eight shows a week when the show opens at the end of the year. After winning the I'd Do Anything series on the 31st of May 2008 she's sure to give a stunning performance.Early Life
Jodie Prenger was born on the 12th of June 1979 in Blackpool. She was first educated at Elmslie Girls School in Lancashire before going to the Blackpool and The Fylde College and started a career as an entertainer. She began on the cabaret circuit in Blackpool. Whilst in Blackpool, Jodie often boasts that she managed to perform two shows every night in two different theatres. She starred in the Tiptoes Summer Spectacular before nipping off to appear in one of the lead roles in the Hot Mikado, a musical comedy based on the operetta by Gilbert and Sullivan.
Jodie's first television appearance was in 1999 when she featured in A Taste for Travel on Granada Television with her mum. Next year she was part of the Dale Winton show, The Other Half, on the BBC. She also worked for eight months on board a Disney cruise ship as one of four principals in a team of 19 entertainers. She is now engaged to Steve Greengrass, who proposed on the 12 April, 2008 after the third programme of I'd Do Anything. Steve is a 41 year old IT consultant from Northampton.
Career Highlights
Jodie began her career with a bang when she starred in the Tiptoes Summer Spectacular when she was only 19. In 2006 she won Living TV's The Biggest Loser, a reality programme that followed the lives of 12 dieters as they tried to lose weight. During the course of the series Jodie managed to lose a massive 8.7 stone and went down from a size 26 to a size 10. Of course, her big break came when she was chosen by the British public to star in Cameron Mackintosh's upcoming production of Oliver!. Performing to millions every Saturday night, Jodie won the BBC's talent hunt I'd Do Anything in May 2008.Interesting Facts
- She was the first female winner of The Biggest Loser on Living TV in 2006 for which she won £25,000.
- Jodie managed to lose 8.7 stone in six months.
- On their fourth date Jodie saw Steve's sheep: Snap, Crackle, Pop and lambs: Ready Steady and Cook.
- Steve taught Jodie how to ride a bike.
