Early Life

Born in Bovingdon, Hertfordshire on 30 July 1940, Frances was educated at London's Lycée Français and the Drama Centre which forms part of the University of the Arts London.

Career Highlights

Frances de la Tour has appeared in many TV shows, West End Shows and films during her lengthy career. Lately she appeared in the box office smash, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Madame Olympe Maxime, and Aunt Imogene in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Her television appearances include Heartbeat, Waking the Dead and Poirot.

Interesting Facts

In 2003, de la Tour played a terminally ill lesbian in the film Love Actually, although her scenes were cut from the film's theatrical release, and only appear on the DVD.
