James dazzled audiences earlier this year as heartbreaker Warner in Legally Blonde the Musical showing at the Savoy Theatre.

Early Life

James grew up an only child in Dorset and was educated at Dumpton School, the Milldown School and the Corfe Hills School and went on to Simouth College. He played the role of Puck in an amateur production of A Midsummer Night's Dream when he was 15 and the enigmatic role of Dr Watson In Sherlock Holmes for Sidmouth Youth Theatre.

Career Highlights

Duncan James formed boy band Blue in early 2000 with friends Antony Costa, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe. Blue achieved huge commercial success with an R&B influenced pop sound. Blue released their first single, All Rise, in May 2001 which was followed by 11 top ten UK singles before the band split up in 2004.

Duncan launched his solo career in October 2004 and his debut single I Believe My Heart entering the UK charts at number two. He has also starred as Billy Flynn in Chicago the Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre (2007) and has just finished starring as heartbreaker Warner in Legally Blonde the Musical at the Savoy theatre (2010).

  • Duncan's first single I Believe My Heart was a duet with Keedie and was taken from the soundtrack of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, The Woman in White
