Current Role

Denise's last role was playing the part of Maureen in Rent. The star took over from Jesse Wallace in William Baker's revamped version of Larson's classic. Denise is currently developing a one woman show with Andrew Lloyd Webber and acting as a judge in the BBC1 programme "I'd Do Anything". Van Outen judges alongside Lloyd Webber, Barry Humphries and John Barrowman to find a Nancy and three suitable Olivers for the latest West End musical project, Oliver!

Early Life

Denise was born on 27th May, 1974 in Basildon, Essex. Her parents enrolled her into the renowned Sylvia Young Theatre School where she learned vital skills to carry her through to her acting and presenting career later in life.

She began modelling early in her career which helped her reach stardom in no time at all. During her youth, she acted and performed in a variety of plays and musicals including the popular Les Miserables.

Career Highlights

Perhaps Denise Van Outen's most famous job to date was joining The Big Breakfast in 1997 alongside Johnny Vaughn. The duo set the standard for breakfast television viewing with regular features and commical viewer interaction. Other appearances include cameo roles in ITV's The Bill and presenting roles on The Friday Night Project. More recently, the Denise was a judge on the ever popular reality TV show, Any Dream Will Do.
